China industry group calls for quick resolution to iron ore price talks - Xinhua

BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - Primary and secondary industries critical to China's continued economic development have called for a speedy conclusion to the ongoing iron ore pricing talks between China's steelmakers and major iron ore providers, the official Xinhua news agency reported, quoting the group.
'Leading miners should treat China's iron ore import market as one of tremendous importance, with both sides striving for a long-term 'win-win' agreement. Also, the parties are urged to reach a consensus on contract prices 'as soon as possible',' Xinhua said, citing an official from the China Chamber of Commerce of Metals Minerals & Chemicals Importers & Exporters (CCCMC) as saying.
China's steelmakers, represented by Baosteel, are in prolonged negotiations with the world's leading iron ore providers.
